If you are currently on active duty, you must provide a certification on letterhead from your military branch which contains your military service date, expected date of discharge or release, and the character of service to show that your military service was performed under honorable conditions.
The expected date of discharge or release must be within days of the date the certification is submitted for consideration for this vacancy announcement. If the appropriate information is not submitted to confirm your current or expected discharge status, dates of service, etc. Previous editions of the SF will not be accepted. For Sole Survivorship preference , you must provide a copy of your DD Member Copy 4 is preferable or another form of official documentation which shows your discharge or release from active duty occurred on or after August 29, and was based on a sole survivorship discharge.
RGs are required to complete one day rotational assignment in a different functional area within their job series. The Master Training and Development Plan describe the planned training and development activities during the course of the one year Recent Graduates Program. These activities are designed to enable the participant to acquire the competencies, knowledge and skills for successful job performance. Individuals who meet specific requirements may be eligible for noncompetitive appointment to Federal jobs upon successful completion of the program.
Individuals may be eligible for noncompetitive appointment in the civil service through the following programs and hiring authorities: Pathways The Pathways Programs are developmental opportunities tailored to promote employment for students and recent graduates in the Federal workforce.
Veterans unable to apply within two years of receiving their degree, due to military service obligation, have up to six years after degree completion to apply. Presidential Management Fellows : Individuals who have completed within two years a qualifying advanced degree may apply for the PMF Program more than once as long as they meet the eligibility criteria. Note: Some job opportunity announcements allow for a student to apply within nine months of degree completion. If applicable, it will be noted in the respective announcement. Individuals appointed to this program are referred to as recent graduates and are placed in a dynamic, one-year developmental program.
The Pathways Recent Graduates Program provides recent graduates with valuable training, hands-on work experience, and professional development opportunities. Participants have the opportunity to gain marketable skills and competencies, receive a mentor and a supervisor for dedicated guidance and support, and contribute to the larger mission of VA in a meaningful way. Those who successfully complete program requirements may also be eligible for conversion to a full-time position.

Individuals selected for the VA Pathways Recent Graduates Program will generally be appointed to positions up to the GS-9 level or equivalent and placed in a one-year career development program, though certain career fields in science and technology may be eligible for appointment to the GS or GS level or equivalent.
